Cardigans never really went anywhere; they are just coming back cooler and better than ever.

Coco Chanel is recognized for popularizing cardigans for women because she “hates how tight-necked men’s sweaters messed up her hair when she pulled them over her head.”  Cardigans are mostly associated with the college culture of the Roaring Twenties, 1950’s, 1970’s, 1990s and are now back and better than ever. In 2020 we have seen a lot of 1990’s trends make a comeback, and I am glad the cardigan is one of them.

Cardigans are incredibly versatile ranging in different fabrics such as wool or cotton and style, such as oversized or cropped. You really can’t go wrong here. Pair a cropped cardigan with a mini skirt or jeans or pair a baggy cardigan over a silk dress or some high-waisted leather pants.

I have been obsessing over cable-knit cardi’s and like to style mine by unbuttoning the last two buttons down the sweater, transforming the preppy fit into a sexy ensemble.
